Free redirect checker
Enter a web address and we'll follow its redirects (with a hop limit) to show how many steps it takes to reach the final page. Long chains slow visitors down; loops and error endings need fixing.
What this checks
This is a passive, light-touch check. It only reads what a normal browser visit and public DNS can see. It isn't a security test, a penetration test or a guarantee.

What your result means
- Pass: Your address reaches the final page in [N] steps or fewer. [Code: pass at 0 to 2 steps]
- Worth a look: It takes [N] redirects to reach your page, which slows visitors down a little.
- Needs fixing: Your redirects go round in a loop, take more than five steps, or end on an error page.
- How to fix: Point every old address straight to the final https:// page in one step.
FAQs
How many redirects is OK?
Reaching the final page in 0 to 2 steps is fine. More than that is worth shortening.
What is a redirect loop?
When addresses send you round in a circle and never settle on a final page.
Should http:// go to https:// in one step?
Yes. Prefer one permanent (301) redirect to the final https:// address, including the www or non-www version you want.
Do you follow redirects forever?
No. The chain is capped so a loop can't run on forever.
