About the scan

When Website Scanners checks a page you enter, our requests identify themselves with this User-Agent:

WebsiteScannersBot/1.0 (+https://websitescanners.com/about-the-scan/)

The scan makes a small number of ordinary public GET or HEAD requests, reads response headers, and looks up public DNS records. It follows only same-host links that appear on the page, capped at 20. It does not try to log in, fill forms, guess hidden paths or scan ports.

Website Scanners is a free tool run by Web Designer Limited, which also offers paid web design and website audits at georgemorina.co.uk. The scan works the same for everyone, and results aren't affected by whether you become a client.

What we keep, and for how long

We do not store the web addresses you check or your scan results. Results stay in your browser only.

To stop the tool being misused, we use a short-lived count based on a one-way hash of your IP address and of the website you're scanning. These counts are kept for up to 1 hour and then deleted automatically. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and fair to use.

We also use Cloudflare Turnstile on the scan form to reduce automated abuse. See our Privacy notice.

Ask us to stop scanning your domain

If you own a website and want it blocked from this tool, email [email protected] from an address that clearly shows you control the domain, and name the hostnames to block. We will add them to an opt-out list.
