Privacy notice
Who we are
websitescanners.com is run by Web Designer Limited, registered in England and Wales, company no. 15002899, which is the controller of the personal data described here. Registered office: 119a Flat 2 Uxbridge Road, London W7 3ST. ICO registration ZC283618. Contact: [email protected].
The web addresses you scan
When you run a scan, we use the web address you enter only to carry out the scan and show you the results. We remove anything after a "?" or "#" in the address before scanning, because that part can contain personal details. We don't save the address or your results. They're shown in your browser and are gone when you leave the page. Please don't enter addresses that contain personal or private information.
Your IP address and limits
To stop the tool being misused, we keep a short-lived count based on a one-way hash of your IP address and of the website you're scanning (not the raw values). These counts are kept for up to 1 hour and then deleted automatically. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and fair to use.
Bot protection
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a scan request comes from a person and not an automated program. Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser and device. It may store or read a small amount of information on your device, which is strictly necessary to protect the service you've asked for. It isn't used for advertising.
Visitor statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It doesn't use cookies or track you across other websites.
Cookies
This site doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from bots and abuse.
Emails
If you email [email protected], we use your details only to reply. Cloudflare Email Routing receives your email and passes it on to our mailbox, which is provided by Google Workspace (Google Cloud EMEA Limited). Both act as our processors. We keep enquiry emails for up to 2 years after our last contact.
Who handles data for us
Our host, Cloudflare, Inc., delivers and secures the site, runs the scans, and provides Turnstile and Web Analytics, as our processor. Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards that UK data protection law requires. We never sell, license or share your data.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to or restrict its use. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
